Acrylic Latex Paint Passes the Test |
|
|
On this test panel, the ordinary
latex paint (on the right) blistered up when water hit it for
the first time.The high quality acrylic
latex paint (on the left) did not blister because these coatings
generally have particularly good adhesion properties.
Also, most quality latex
paints are higher in solids content and contain lower levels
of water-sensitive thickeners , which can increase the tendency
to blister.
Blisters with latex paints often recover and are not noticed;
but blisters, particularly large ones, can result in premature
failure by flaking.
