Flaking
and peeling . . . As all contractors
know, there are certain areas on the exterior of a house which
are notorious "trouble spots."
One such area is underneath the eaves, where there is little or no sunlight and plenty of dampness. The resulting paint failure can be the "tissue papering" or peeling demonstrated in this photograph. Top quality latex paints are best suited for these difficult areas because of their superior adhesion. Proper surface preparation is important in these areas in order to remove any materials on the surface that may interfere with adhesion of the new paint.
